    Greetings,

I'm a portuguese young composer studing in the Royal Conservatory of the Hague, I'm doing my Master degree in Composition and I'm giving a particular atention to vocal music. I'm composing works for voice (choir, solo voice with instrumental ensemble and others) and I'm writing a thesis about vocal works of the XX century. Because of my deep interest in vocal music I'm very interested in conduct a choir in the Netherlands to develop my knowledge about choir music. I have the sufficient experience to conduct because I have a lot of choir experience as a singer - I used to sing as a tenor in several chamber choirs in Portugal (from Renaissance to XX century music, including jazz and brazilian music), at the present days I'm singing in the Chamber Choir of the Royal Conservatory of the Hague under the orientation of Jos van Veldhoven and I will sing Bach's S. John Passion with the Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra next April. As a conductor I used to conduct the Church Choir of Fajoes (Portugal) and the Children Choir of the Academia de Musica de Castelo de Paiva (Music Academy of Castelo de Paiva, Portugal).

I have got a very good classical formation and also a lot of experience as a pop-rock musician (I played piano and keyboards in several bands in Portugal including a recording of a CD) so I can conduct a varied repertoire.

I'm searching for a choir singing Classical, Pop-rock, Gospel or World Music around the area of Den Haag, Roterdam, Amsterdam or Utrecht (but you can contact me even if you are from another area).

Unfortunatelly I don't speak dutch but I'm taking lessons of it, so I will be able to speak ducth soon. You can find my contacts bellow.

    Sincerely yours,

    Pedro Santos
